FX’s upcoming series “The Bastard Executioner” has recently cast a singer for a recurring role. And it is one big surprise! Read below for the full details:
Ed Sheeran, the six-time Grammy nominee is set to play the role of Sir Cormac in “The Bastard Executioner.” Sir Cormac is described as “an ambitious and deadly protege of a high-ranking church leader.” It’s a recurring role so Sheeran isn’t a regular of the show and he can still do some gigs, make new music and tug at our heartstrings.
“The Bastard Executioner” is by Kurt Sutter and this is his first series after “Sons of Anarchy” wrapped up last December 2015 after 7 seasons. The story is about a warrior who vows not to fight again but is then forced to pick up an executioner’s an instead. A couple of teasers regarding the upcoming series have been released and it is said to be really bloody and violent.
Sheeran will join other cast members Stephen Moyer of “True Blood,” Lee Jones, and Katey Sagal of “Sons of Anarchy.” Sutter will also play a role in the series as he is known to appear in his own shows.
“The Bastard Executioner” will premiere this fall on FX.
