Ed Sheeran is such a gentleman! After Oasis star Noel Gallagher publicly criticized the “Thinking Out Loud” singer in an interview, Sheeran offered him tickets to his sold-out Wembley Stadium concert. Read on to learn more about it.
In case you missed it, the former Oasis frontman dissed Sheeran for his “polished pop” style. According to The Independent, Gallagher was aggravated that the 23-year-old is set to play at the largest stadium in UK. He even went far in saying that he “don’t think he can live in a world where guys like Sheeran had three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows.”
Upon hearing his harsh comments, Sheeran revealed that he quickly texted Gallagher and invited him to one of his sold-out concerts. He says he was not at all offended by Gallagher’s remarks since he saw him as one of the most outspoken guys in the music industry.
“I found it quite cool to be in his interview,” Sheeran added.
Sheeran’s peace offering might have done the trick. Gallagher reportedly replied that his daughter would love to go to one of his concerts.
According to Sheeran, the former Oasis frontman said: “ You cheeky so and so. My daughter would love some.”
Sheeran is quite a pro in handling criticisms. He shared that it’s healthy to receive some insults from time to time to keep his ego in check. The “X” singer says he gets quite a lot of beating from the press and fans, but it doesn’t let it get to his head.
The Grammy nominee is set to play for three nights at the Wembley Stadium from July 10 to 12, 2015.
