“Edge of Tomorrow” Film Synopsis
Set in the distant future, the story begins with the invasion of mysterious alien forms called Mimics on Earth and their undisputed battle against the human race.
It was said these species are undefeated by any means of weaponry or military tactics made by humans. It is now in the hands of everyone to join forces in their last chance to save Earth.
Lt. Col. William “Bill” Cage (Tom Cruise) knows nothing about being in the field until he was sen to be part of a suicide mission. Within minutes, he was killed in the battle, taking an alien with him. Then, the impossible happened- he awakens again on the day before he fought and found himself sucked by a time loop. Feeling like he was in “Groundhog Day,” his experience is summed up in the movie’s tagline: “Live. Die. Repeat”, where he was forced to fight again and again. He wasn’t the only one who had the same fate. Special Forces soldier Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt) confessed to him that she is also caught in the time loop. She told him to take advantage of their newfound information and his skills everyday. She learns that the repeated battles take them one step closer in defeating the Mimics.
“Edge of Tomorrow” is based on the Japanese Manga/Novel “All You Need Is Kill written by Hiroshi Sakura and illustrated by Yoshitoshi Abe.

“He was like, [intense Tom Cruise voice] ‘Em, this is going to be really hard. Listen: This is gonna be INSANE.’ [Laughs] So I think I was prepped for what was about to be physically the most grueling thing I’ve ever done — but ultimately one of the most exciting projects I’ve ever been a part of.” she shared.
Indeed it was. In an interview with Movieline, she knew she was in good hands when she got involved in the project.
“You can’t ask for a better team than Tom and Doug – Doug is such a visionary and Tom is the most accomplished action guy you can find. He’s very collaborative and very, very professional. And he’s fun.”
Rotten Tomatoes had stated that 98% or 33,963 users can’t wait for premiere release of the film on June 6, 2014.
