Rumors that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are getting divorced have surfaced once again. Radar reported that the marriage is in such bad shape. De Rossi has resorted to dropping by at the set of DeGeneres' talk show, “Ellen,” to keep an eye on the host and make sure that she is not cheating on her with anyone from work.
The rumors came after DeGeneres allegedly cheated on De Rossi with a mutual friend in July of this year. The affair has eroded De Rossi's ability to trust her wife.
De Rossi has also had a difficult year. The television actress checked into Passages Malibu Rehab Facility in May of this year for alcohol abuse.
“Portia hadn’t been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating [herself], and Ellen confronted her. Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn’t in love with her anymore,” a source told In Touch.
DeGeneres visited the actress on weekends during her 30-day stint at the rehab center.
The couple reportedly had an explosive argument during a car ride to a fundraising event for “Saving Spot!” last week. They ended up not attending. The event organizers publicly expressed their disappointment, saying they expected the two to be there, but DeGeneres said that they never agreed to attend in the first place.
However, DeGeneres denied that the marriage was in trouble. During the premiere of “Ellen,” the host immediately addressed the rumors. said
“I had a great summer. I went on a trip with Portia, my beautiful wife — who I am happily married to, but thank you for your heartfelt concern, tabloids,” said DeGeneres, as published on Hollywood Take. De Rossi was also in the audience for the premiere.
DeGeneres and De Rossi started dating in 2004. They got married in 2008, following the legalization of same-sex marriage in California.
