Everyone’s favorite daytime talk show host, Ellen DeGeneres, is going to give Martha Stewart, Gwyneth Paltrow and Blake Lively a run for their money as lifestyle gurus as Ellen has launched her own lifestyle brand too! Calling this E.D., which is what Ellen’s wife Portia de Rossi fondly calls her, the collection will include several gift items, perfect for those planning to do their Christmas shopping early. Read further to learn more about Ellen’s latest endeavor.

E.D.’s product collection will include a smorgasbord of useful items like candles, home ornaments, slippers, pajamas, pillows and chic kitchenware. There will also be choices for pets, as Ellen is a known animal lover.

“I’m not trying to launch a little boutique situation,” said Ellen at a press lunch in New York, as reported on WWD. But the host and comedian understands that she will be devoting time to this new venture, including its possible expansion, especially if her talk show is finally over. While this week is just the launch of E.D., the star of “Finding Nemo” is already looking into the next phase.

Ellen is not doing this without any help, though. She has a team of fashion and lifestyle experts working on E.D., with the most prominent being J. Christopher Burch of Burch Creative Capital. Marisa Gardini from the Isaac Mizrahi empire will serve as managing partner, while Janet Grove, who was with Macy’s Merchandising Group, and Michael Francis, who worked as Target’s chief marketing officer, will also have stakes in Ellen’s lifestyle company.

Set to officially become available by October or early November 2014, just in time for the holidays, the collection will be distributed online and via retail partners. The deal with these stores is still being finalized. By spring, E.D. plans to launch its men and women’s collection, along with pet accessories. Prices will be pegged at midlevel, according to the same report, as Ellen’s target consumer is anyone who enjoys versatility.
