Soon, the legendary singer Elvis Presley’s die-hard fans will swarm post offices across the nation. As a young Presley has graced yet another U.S. stamp officially on Aug. 12, 2015, in Memphis. The limited edition “Forever” stamps of the singer are on sale at U.S. Post Offices. Read on.
Priscilla Presley, who is ex-wife of the iconic star, was seen attending the dedication ceremony outside Graceland, Presley’s residence in Memphis during Elvis Week. Another ceremony was planned for Thursday in Tupelo, Mississippi – Elvis Presley’s birthplace.
Graceland witnessed a huge gathering of fans as the ceremony began early Wednesday morning. Postmaster General Megan Brennan along with Presley launched the stamp commemorating Presley’s death anniversary. The legendary singer died on Aug. 16, 1977.
The exclusive stamp bears a black-and-white portrait of a younger legend dated back to 1955 taken by William Speer. The stamp is designed with rock-and-roll superstar’s signature in gold. While the words “Forever” and “USA” are inscribed in the corner. The stamp also carries a small gold crown, an indication to his nickname, “The King.”
Besides, the U.S. Postal Service is also releasing “Elvis Presley Forever”, a CD comprising of 18 Presley hits for $9.99 as reported by NYPost.com.
