“The Devil Wears Prada” famed actress Emily Blunt, who got U.S. citizenship in this August only has revealed that the reason behind her choosing U.S. citizenship was to pay less tax. Read for detailed information. Read on.
Yes, the actress, who was in news for saying that she is regretting her decision of taking the U.S. Citizenship after watching Donald Trump while a debate of Republican presidential candidates.
Soon after apologized for saying, she has now come up with the main reason for accepting the two-fold citizenship, U.K. and the U.S., which is money. In the month of August, the actress sworn in as the citizen of United States at the Court House (U.S.) in Los Angeles.
“It’s mainly for tax reasons. I didn’t want to renounce my Queen,” reported Sunday Times’ Style magazine as told by Blunt.
The 33-year-old actress is currently living with her husband in the U.S. and termed her regretting statement as a joke.
“It was just an offhand joke. I think I’ll probably leave the political jokes to late-night or something,” Blunt said in the same conversation.
To save herself from the wrath of conventional experts, Blunt said, “It was so not the intention to hurt anybody or cause any offence, so I really apologise to those that I caused offence.”
The actress also said that taking a new nationality is about learning everything meaning all the rules, regulations, Constitution etc.
“You can’t be a habitual drunk, you can’t be on a guerrilla squad and you can’t be a prostitute, which is a shame,” Blunt further added.
Well, saving money is obviously a very major concern for people and if the actress became an American for the same then there is nothing wrong in it but she should carefully choose her jokes and words too. Because as a new member of a society, it is better to learn before making a comment.
We hope Blunt, who is currently celebrating the success of her latest movie “Sicario” in which she played the role of an FBI agent, will learn everything soon and not repeat the same mistake again and also she will be able to save money.
