Emma Watson Recounts the Events of a Crime Through Her Eyes in ‘Regression’ [WATCH VIDEO]

“Harry Potter” alum Emma Watson stars in a thriller together with Ethan Hawke in Alejandro Amenábar’s thriller — “Regression.” Read on to know more about the details of this preview.

Successful franchises like the “Harry Potter” series became the definite doorway to stardom for actresses like Emma Stone, but the challenge of having to shed what’s left of her Hermione Granger character still stands.  The actress has starred in numerous films, and now she takes on the thrilling side of stand-alone feature films as she plays the role of Angela Gray. She drops her English accent and recounts the events of a crime she’s witnessed in Alejandro Amenábar’s thriller, “Regression.”

“I heard a knock on the door. There was an old lady. She had this weird smile on her face. She took me down stairs. They were wearing robes. It was a black mass… Then they’ll kill you too.” — The international trailer for “Regression” is something that will definitely boggle its viewer’s minds in its one-minute trailer. Writer and director Alejandro Amenábar presents the film in a dark and brooding setting. It is even characterized by the shaky and scarred voice of Watson recounting what has happened in one dreaded night with the help of her “Harry Potter” co-star David Thewlis, playing the role of Professor Kenneth Raines.

Alejandro Amenábar is known for his films “The Sea Side,” “Nobody Knows Anybody,” and the critically acclaimed “The Others,” which received both great and disappointing reviews.

“Regression” opens in theaters on Aug. 28, 2015.
