According to an exclusive report on Deadline, Marisa Tomei, an actress who rarely appears in television shows and projects, will be appearing in the second season of FOX’s breakout musical drama for several episodes. Tomei is signed on to appear as billionaire Mimi Whitman. Her role is described as a trendy billionaire venture capitalist, who is also described as demanding, and as someone who loves hip hop music, high fashion, and women.
Tomei’s Whitman will be appearing in a multi-episode arc, as the venture capitalist is very much interested in Empire Entertainment Industries, as a businesswoman.
Tomei is the latest addition to the roster of high-profile stars, which include Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, Chris Rock and Adam Rodriguez.
Also, “Empire” fans should also take note that there will be a time jump, as some time has passed between the first season’s season finale and the season premiere of season two.
According to an exclusive report on TV Line, the second season premiere will be taking place three months after the events of season one.It means that the other Lyons will soon be faced with the family patriarch Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard), as the big house won’t be keeping him in for long.
