‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’ fans may have something to look forward to by the end of this year, as the most-awaited fourth and last installment to the “Rebuild of Evangelion” movie is rumored to be released in winter of this year. An early Christmas present for fans, maybe? Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Good news, “Evangelion” fans! What seems to be quite a long wait for the fourth and last installment to the “Rebuild of Evangelion” movie franchise may finally come to an end, as “Evangelion 4.0” or “Evangelion 3.0+1.0” is rumored to be released in winter of this year.
Crunchyroll cited in a report that rumors about the “Evangelion” movie finally coming to light surfaced following an announcement from Japanese American singer/songwriter Hikaru Utada that she has given birth on July 3.
While everyone is rejoicing over the birth of her new baby boy, fans were even more thrilled when Utada hinted that she has been working on her first Japanese album.
Fans went even more excited after the weekly Japanese news magazine Shukan Bunshun revealed in its July 16th issue that an insider claims that Utada will be working on a new theme song for the final “Evangelion” movie.
“Right now, Utada is in the middle of working on a new song for the final ‘Evangelion’ that’s scheduled for release in winter of this year,” the source added.
Does this mean “Evangelion 4.0” will finally be released in December 2015 after almost three years since “Evangelion 3.0: You Can (Not) Redo” aired on the big screens?
While this news has yet to be confirmed by Hikaru Utada, iDigitalTimes noted on the possibility of seeing Kaworu defeating the time loop in the fourth “Rebuild of Evangelion” movie.
