The popular South Korean-Chinese boy group, EXO, has started working on a repackaged album coming out this month for a comeback. Their upcoming album is a repackaged version of their last album EX’ACT that was a huge hit and sold almost 760,000 copies. In a recent update, it is revealed that the boys have begun filming for their next album. It is taking place when the group takes a time off between weekend concerts for The EXO’rDIUM in Seoul.
The repackaged version generally consists new singles along with addition to songs that are part of the original album EX’ACT, as mentioned by IB Times. S.M. Entertainment officially made an announcement that the specified details about the group’s comeback schedule and music performance are yet to be finalized. However, the repackaged version will be out in August for sure.
It is said that if the next album manages to sell over 100 million copies, EXO will have three consecutive albums that managed to cross a million. Their concert EXO PLANET #3: The EXO’rDIUM was already a huge hit and was attended by approximately more than 14,000 people in Seoul.
This is not the first time EXO members are working on a repackaged version. They have done it earlier with their first studio album titled XOXO. The title track broke several records and was listed on the number 3 spot on Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100.
The EX’ACT repackaged version news was hinted by band member Sehun for the first time. It was later confirmed by their label S.M. Entertainment.
In another update, it is revealed that former bandmates of EXO, Luhan and Kris, have signed back with their former agency. However, they will not be joining their group again. Instead, they will continue as solo artists. Both artists left the band in 2014 and were later indulged in lawsuits and countersuits with S.M. Entertainment.
