“The Force” continues to be strong with K-pop boy wonders EXO. Putting another unique spin to their “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” collaboration, SM Entertainment and Walt Disney had a faster-than-a-lightspeed “Star Wars” ambience for the “Call Me Baby” artists on their Vogue Korea photo-shoot.
According to Soompi, this feature was made known to the public with the magazine’s recent photo update on their social media account which will fully be released in their forthcoming December issue. Besides the space-opera themed glamour shots of Chen, Suho, Sehun and Kai, the Vogue Korea issue will also feature a detailed interview on the boy band’s ongoing “Star Wars” campaign.
EXO kicked-off their own “Star Wars” fever following a teaser from the film franchise that they will team up with a Korean pop group. The end product was the song “Lightsaber” which was accompanied with a music video that copiously showcased elements of the “Star Wars” franchise, as reported by The Inquistr.
The video begins with the “machine-like” labored breathing of Darth Vader. It was then followed by a running electro-pop sound with the EXO boys flashed their lightsabers inside a Star Wars-themed club. It can be noted that the band members are singing with a double meaning with the words “lifesaver” and “lightsaber” on the music video which has successfully brought in more 2 million views since it was released.
It has also been mentioned that with this recent accomplishment in the East Asian market for Disney it comes to no wonder that they have re-opened a Korean adaptation of their popular “The Mickey Mouse Club.” The said show will go along a blueprint which is mostly adapted by K-pop variety shows.
The “Star Wars” franchise is not just about visionary movie-making genius it has also well-known to have pooled resources with creative people and their works of art, Cool Hunting gives us the latest lowdown on these “joining forces” before “The Force Awakens” hits theaters on Dec. 18.
