“The Exodus” is the Old Testament tale about Moses and Rhamses. Ridley Scott is taking the saga to the silver screen, which will be entitled as “Exodus: Gods and Kings.”  The movie is written by Bill Collage, Adam Cooper and Steven Zaillian. Christian Bale plays Moses with an ample beard, while Joel Edgerton makes an extraordinary makeover into Rhamses. Read on to learn more about the details of this upcoming film.

“Exodus: Gods and Kings” depicts the drama of the Bible story by means of indelible imagery, state of the art visual effects and 3D immersion. The star cast of “Exodus: Gods and Kings” includes:

  • Christian Bale as Moses
  • Joel Edgerton as Rhamses
  • Aaron Paul as Joshua
  • John Turturro as Seti
  • Ben Kingsley as Nun
  • Sigourney Weaver as Tuya
  • Maria Valverde as Zipporah
  • Indira Varma as Miriam
  • Hiam Abbass as Bithiah
  • Kevork Malikyan as Jethro
  • Anton Alexander as Dathan
  • Ben Mendelsohn

Scott brings a  new take to the saga of the rebellious leader, Moses, as he stands up against the Egyptian pharaoh, Rhamses, setting 600,000 slaves on a heroic escape expedition from Egypt and its petrifying series of deadly plagues, passing through the Red Sea. Ridley Scott is a veteran in the field as he has tried his hand at epic silver screen ventures earlier, namely: “1492: Conquest of Paradise” (1992), “Gladiator” (2000) and “Kingdom of Heaven” (2005).

According to Variety, Scott isn’t through with Biblical theme movies, as he will also produce a film about King David and his sovereignty after defeating the giant, Goliath, in a battle, equipped only with a sling and a number of pebbles.

Will “Exodus: Gods and Kings” be any more successful than “Kingdom of Heaven”? We’ll have to wait and watch when the 20th Century Fox releases the film on December 12, 2014.
