Korean pop group EXO has started promoting their latest album, but fans couldn’t help but notice that the group’s Chinese member, Lay, has been excluded in their promotional video. Read on for more details.
Earlier this week, Realty Today reported that EXO, which is one of the most popular Korean pop groups today, is performing on stage again for the promotion of their new album, “Sing for You.” The said album was released in December 10th. However, Koreaboo reported that fans started to get furious when they noticed that the group’s Chinese member, Lay, has been excluded in their promo video, which was aired on December 11th, for their comeback performances. The group’s promotional video only shows individual photos of eight members – Baek Hyun, Chan Yeol, Chen, D.O., Kai, Se Hun, Suho, and Xiumin.
It will be recalled that Lay has been missing most of the group’s activities because of his solo commitments in China. It might be the reason why he was cut off in the promo video. When the group showcased their album, Lay opened up that this year has been difficult for them. He also tearfully apologized to the other EXO members. “To the members, I’m sorry and I love you,” he said.
Baek Hyun also reacted on the issue and said, “Lay-hyung has been busy with a lot of activities in China. So he couldn’t spend a lot of time with us and he felt sorry although he doesn’t have to.
Earlier this month, Lay modeled for the cover of China’s Cosmopolitan magazine. The said issue was special because it’s the 13th issue of the year. In his photo, Lay went for a boy next door vibe and wore a clean, light blue coat and black pants. Shaun the Sheep was also featured in his photo!
