The Hollywood’s iconic action hero Sylvester Stallone has finally contemplated to move ahead with the making of “The Expendables 4” despite receiving medium response from the third installment of the series. The release of much-awaited film has been postponed due to some recent changes in the casting and if everything runs smooth on the track, the movie will be able to hit the big screens by 2017.
Master Herald brought into notice that the movie franchise previously screened new installment in every two years but there is no doubt that “The Expendables 4” will break the franchise’s traditional practice. The original movie “The Expendables” was released in 2010 followed by the release of second and third installments in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
Had the director and producer wanted to maintain the consistency, the movie should have been released by 2016, which is not possible, as some reports claim that the filming will be commenced anytime in the next year.
Some reports are claiming that the upcoming movie will be produced on a budget of more than $100 million and it will maintain its all-action star formula. There has been a tradition of the franchise to add popular action stars for every installment. There was a big hype in the media when Stallone urged Bollywood star Salman Khan and “Hollywood Walk of Fame” star owner Jackie Chan to play vital roles in “The Expendables 4” against the villainous characters to be played by former wrestlers Dwayne Johnson and Hulk Hogan. However, both Chan and the Bollywood superhero rejected the offer.
According to The Christian Post, Hogan’s character in “The Expendables 4” is going to be world’s most evil man who will be targeted by Stallone’s group. The former wrestler himself shared a small outline of his character during the Body Power Expo in the UK in May. Oppositely, Johnson reportedly became interested for the movie after he saw the American mixed martial artist-cum-actress Ronda Rousey in “The Expendables 3,” however, he opts the role of a bad guy in the fourth installment.
