Fans of the Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquiao are in for a disappointment. Turns out, he will not be making his Hollywood debut soon as part of the “Expendables 4” movie.
Speaking to TMZ, Sylvester Stallone confirmed that Manny Pacquiao will not be part of the “Expendables 4” movie cast. The actor, however, admitted that the boxer could have been part of the franchise if he had won against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Stallone teased that Pacquiao was supposed to tease the cast how to box.
In the end, he confirmed that despite several rumors, Pac Man will not be in the movie.
“No, Pacquiao was never going to be in it. He’s a great fighter.”
Several news websites has long reported that Manny Pacquiao has been offered a role in the “Expendables 4” movie alongside Harrison Ford, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Mel Gibson, UFC champion Ronda Rousey, Johnson, Steven Seagal and Jackie Chan. This is not surprising as the cast of the action flick seemed to be focused on getting athletes who could do their own stunts.
As reported by Inquirer, the producers allegedly approached Pacquiao before his fight with Chris Algieri in Macau late last year.
“We haven’t agreed on anything yet. Let’s talk about it after the fight,” the boxing champ said at the time of the interview.
In May 3, Manny Pacquiao lost to Floyd Mayweather Jr. via unanimous decision in a boxing match dubbed as the “Fight of the Century.”
