Noah Hawley, the creator of the series, revealed that the show is heading towards a more contemporary setting in the new season after spending ten episodes of season 1 and 10 episodes of season 2. It seems that the season 2 and the season 3 would probably be linked by a few threads here and there. However, we could expect some familiar faces returning in the new season and a few different cast members.
Neither FX nor Hawley revealed the premiere date of “Fargo” season 3. The gap between the first and second season of the series was more than a year. Hence, there is more chance that Hawley and company might take their own time for the season 3. As of now, there are speculations that the season 3 would not premiere until 2017. However, the source believes that it is too early to speculate the premiere date now. It would definitely be worth to wait for a great story.
“The reality is you won’t see it in 2016,” Hawley mentioned about the season 3, during a conference call for the “Fargo” season 2, reported Variety. Hence, we could conclude that the season 3 would not be ready before 2017.
