“Furious 7” was initially planned to be the beginning of a new trilogy in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. However, Paul Walker’s tragic death in 2013 had led the studio to rethink their plans for the franchise. In the end, Universal Pictures decided to end the movie with a heartfelt tribute to Paul Walker.
To fill the void left by Paul Walker’s character in “Fast & Furious 8,” a couple of reputable female leads came up. According to the latest gossip, stars like Helen Mirren, Ruby Rose, and Angelina Jolie are into consideration to play an important role in “Fast & Furious 8.”
According to People, the 69-years-old British icon Dame Helen Mirren expressed her wish to act in “Fast & Furious” films. When Entertainment Tonight talked Vin Diesel, he said that he is definite that he will be able to find someone so ‘amazing’ a place in his movies.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Michele Rodriguez said that in the next film “Fast 8,” the team would love to have some powerful presence and according to her, Angelina Jolie would be a perfect cast for the same.
Meanwhile, “Orange is the New Black” star, Ruby Rose insists that she in the process of negotiating for a role in “Furious 8.” Ruby also said that she has auditioned for the part before she started working in hit Netflix series. Earlier, Ruby was under consideration to be a part in “Furious 7,” but the studio did not consider her as she look a lot like Justin Bieber.
Apart from the new cast, few stars from the earlier films are also going to reprise their roles in “Furious 8.” According to reports, Jason Stathom and Dwayne Johnson have already confirmed that they will be back in “Fast 8.”
“Furious 8” is scheduled to be release in theaters on April 14, 2017 with Vin Diesel and Eva Mendez reprising their roles.
