“Fast 8” is apparently facing trouble for deciding on a director. It is of utmost importance for the “Fast and Furious” franchise to have some renowned action-adventure film director on board. After being turned-down from Justin Lin and Wan, “Fast 8” has turned towards Rob Cohen.
“Fast 8” or “Furious 8” is actually considering to be directed by original series’ director Rob Cohen who had directed “The Fast and The Furious” back in the year 2001. Rob Cohen is not particularly of action genre but is known to raise the levels with setting high standards, which is needed by Vin Diesel’s “Fast 8.”
Dom Toretto and gang have taken their adventurous action journey to New York this time. “Fast 8” is scheduled to release on April 14, 2017 and the script is under works by Gary Scott Thompson. Script will be mostly be ready before Vin Diesel’s “Last Witch Hunter” movie’s tour, reported MTV.
Vin Diesel might actually consider directing the eighth “Fast and Furious” himself or at least his mother wants the same. Recent revelation on the new upcoming trilogy from the franchise has it that “Furious 7” was for Paul Walker and “Fast 8” will be from him.
Vin Diesel is leaving no stones unturned to raise the bars in his favour this time around to make the upcoming trilogy a massive success. Diesel communicated to fans via lengthy Facebook post saying, “There has always been the desire by Paul [Walker] to have Rob [Cohen] direct one more, this is what fueled my campaign. I believe that he can and would reset the franchise nicely, returning to what was the core of the film in the beginning… racing.”
Diesel further added, “Ultimately we all want the best film to honor what we have created and what you the audience has adopted as your favorite franchise.”
Diesel’s long Facebook post still hints towards Justin Lin’s consideration for the movie as director.
