According to Entertainment Weekly (EW), the three-minute first official trailer for the much awaited sequel was released last Saturday, seven days after unveiling the official title “Furious 7." It features action packed footages from the upcoming pic including "insanely over-the-top stunts, high-speed chases and a Jason Statham out for vengeance."
Set after the events of “Fast & Furious 6” and “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” after the defeat of Owen Shaw and his crew in the previous pic, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and the rest of the crew are able to return to the United States and live a normal life again. However, Owen's older brother, Ian Shaw (Jason Statham), is after Dominic, seeking revenge for the death of his brother, putting the entire crew in danger once more. After learning of Han's death, the crew sets out to find the man who killed one of their own before he finds them first.
Moreover, Iggy Azalea is set to make a cameo appearance in the film. The pic marks the final film appearance of Paul Walker, who died on Nov. 30, 2013 while the film was still in production. His brothers, Cody and Caleb, appeared in the pic to fill in for his role. “Furious 7” is written by Chris Morgan and directed by James Wan. Vin Diesel will join other returning producers Neal H. Moritz and Michael Fottrell return to produce the film. “Furious 7” will drive into the big screens on Apr. 3, 2015.
