Hollywood’s high-octane super hit thriller “Fast & Furious 7″ has reportedly completed filming in Abu Dhabi, according to official news agency WAM, as published in gulfbusiness.com. “Fast & Furious 7″ which stars late actor Paul Walker, is the latest installment of Universal Pictures’ most popular franchise. It was filmed in various locations in Abu Dhabi, including Emirates Palace, Al Ain city, and Jumeirah Etihad Towers. The production of “Fast & Furious 7″ was made possible by Abu Dhabi government entities and twofour54 intaj, the television and film services provider of twofour54. During filming, the Ministry of Interior, Abu Dhabi Municipality, and Abu Dhabi Department of Transport also provided field support by providing permits and managing traffic.
“We are delighted that the filming of “Fast And Furious 7” was successfully completed,” “It is wonderful to see how popular foreign productions can benefit from Abu Dhabi’s unique locations, world-class production and post-production facilities, locally based media professionals and generous film rebate,” said Noura Al Kaabi, CEO of twofour54 in a report by Gulf Business.
It looks like Abu Dhabi’s target of becoming a regional hub for international movie makers has been accomplished after “Fast & Furious 7″ filmed there. The country also drew the attention of Hollywood thriller “Deliver us from Evil,” Syrian production company Clacket’s “The Brothers” and the BBC’s “Top Gear.”
According to Enstars, although the “Fast & Furious 7″ filming picked up where Paul left off, his reflection is still seen on the sets as his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker have stepped in to complete the film. “Spitting image” is the phrase often used to describe Cody and Caleb. The perplexing resemblance among the Walker brothers can be seen in the latest pictures posted from the set, which were published by Daily Mail.
Yahoo Movies reported that Brian O’Conner, the character played by the late Paul Walker in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, will be retiring in the upcoming seventh installment.
Pictures taken last week on the Malibu set of ““Fast & Furious 7″” were also published by Yahoo Movies. It reveals Cody Walker standing in for his brother Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner. He can be seen walking along the beach with Jordana Brewster who plays Mia Toretto, O’Conner’s wife and their on-screen son, Jack.
“Fast and Furious” fans will get to watch the Walkers’ final performance in “Fast & Furious 7,” which is scheduled to hit U.S. and UK theatres on April 10, 2015, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).
