Film franchises that have gone on to become huge successes, more often than not, attract the attention of the biggest names in Hollywood, as well as up and coming stars in town. Naturally, fans of franchises such as “Fast & Furious” often speculate and wonder who else would be attached to, or could potentially be attached to big franchise sequels, such as the upcoming “Fast & Furious” film, “Fast & Furious 8.”
Ever since the news broke that this will be a reality, it didn’t take long for fans to begin to speculate far and wide as to who might be featured in the next installment. Names such as Dame Helen Mirren and Eva Mendes, who has been featured in one of the “Fast & Furious” films have arisen, and recently, two more names have been circulating the rumor mill- one is an up and coming star in Hollywood, while another is a veteran actress. Read on to learn who else have been speculated to join the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Casting a role in a movie is not a very easy thing to do. It was especially if the film involved is part of a successful franchise with a huge following such as “Fast & Furious.” While any kind of confirmation regarding any additions to the cast are pending, names begin to crop up in the rumor mill.
These rumors are not surprising, as Donna Langley, the chairman of Universal Pictures, mentioned, during the Question and Answer portion of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power Lawyers Breakfast last April, that they have always tried to “up the ante” when it comes to the cast that they take on for the films, as well as the plot lines of the film itself. This is relevant, most especially now, as the loss of actor Paul Walker will have a big impact on the films moving forward.
Recently, according to a report on Enstarz, another up and coming actress has been added to the rumor mill of possible candidates to join the franchise including “Paper Towns’” and “Suicide Squad’s” Cara Delevingne, especially as it seems that this role might be a good fit for her “wild” personality.
According to the report, the young actress could, if ever, portray another Toretto sibling, as Mia Toretto O’Connor (Jordana Brewster) might no longer in the picture due to the loss of actor Paul Walker, who portrayed Brian O’Connor.
Another actress, according to Yibada, who could add star power to the franchise is “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and “House of Flying Daggers” star and veteran actress Zhang Ziyi, who is no stranger at all to action sequences and scenes.
Do you think either Cara Delevigne or Zhang Ziyi would make a good addition to the cast? Who else do you think should be added to the upcoming “Fast & Furious 8” ? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
And that was all for the rumors on who else might be joining the “Fast & Furious” franchise. For more news and updates on “Fast & Furious 8” and other upcoming films, keep on following Movie News Guide (MNG).
