‘Fast & Furious 8’ News, Cast Update and Release Date: Paul Walker’s Brother to Join the Sequel as a New Character? Vin Diesel Teases New York Setting

“Fast & Furious 8” is already sizzling up with rumors and speculations among fans, as Vin Diesel recently dished out that the upcoming sequel will be set in New York. While the “Furious 7” sequel is still more than a year away from its release in cinemas, fans are wondering if Paul Walker’s brother, Cody will be playing a role in the upcoming movie. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Fast and Furious 8” is still over a year away from its premiere, but several rumors and theories are already making rounds over the Internet about possible storylines, characters and villains. Vin Diesel previously posted a teaser photo of “Furious 8,” which seemingly hints that the upcoming sequel will be set in New York.

While details about the “Furious 7” sequel are still unknown, aside from the announcement of several actors and actresses reprising their roles in the upcoming installment, there is ongoing speculation amongst fans that Paul Walker’s brother, Cody, will be playing a new character in “Fast & Furious 8.”

Cody Walker filled in for some of Paul’s scenes in “Fast & Furious 7,” after his brother tragically died in a car accident in 2013, Gospel Herald cited. While the producers could still keep Paul’s character Brian O’Conner in the movie after Cody expressed interest in participating in “Furious 8,” it is highly unlikely to happen especially after the heartwarming farewell and tribute that the movie did for Paul.

Meanwhile, “Orange is the New Black” star Ruby Rose has recently confirmed that she is currently in talks to star in the next installment of the “Fast and Furious” franchise, Inquisitr reported.

The 21-year-old actress also admitted that she has previously auditioned for “Furious 7,” but was unfortunately turned down because of her resemblance to Justin Bieber.

“It’s so funny because now I’m in talks with that movie and I haven’t mentioned to them that I know [they turned me down because I looked like Justin],” she said.

“Fast & Furious 8” premieres on April 14, 2017. Stay tuned on Movie News Guide (MNG) for more updates.
