“Fast & Furious 8” may see the return of Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and Ludacris for another round of car racing. Fans of the “Fast & Furious” franchise should gear up and brace themselves for another round of adrenaline rush from high-speed car racing, as Vin Diesel confirmed that “Furious 8” is happening. The 47-year-old actor announced the sequel to “Furious 7” during the 2015 MTV Movie Awards and said that the eighth installment to the franchise was “from Paul.”
While details about the “Fast & Furious 8” movie are still unknown, there are ongoing rumors that Paul Walker’s brother, Cody (who doubled as Paul for the rest of his scenes in “Furious 7” following his tragic accident) may be joining Diesel in the upcoming sequel. According to Travelers Today, Cody has previously expressed that he is willing to work with Diesel in the upcoming movie.
The outlet also cited the possibility that Cody may join the team playing a different character than Paul’s Brian Walker in the previous “Fast & Furious” installments. Cody has already started pursuing an acting career following his appearance in “Furious 7” and is currently working with Paul’s manager Matt Luber.
Meanwhile, Vin Diesel hinted via an Instagram post that “Furious 8” will be set in New York. According to Comic Book, Diesel posted what seems to be the logo of the upcoming sequel to the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
The photo shows New York City in the backdrop together with a “Summer 2017” tagline at the bottom of the photo. Diesel previously revealed in an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” that “Fast & Furious 8” will be released on April 14, 2017.
