According to PEOPLE, Walker’s costar Rodriguez said that the memory and wishes of the dead actor would live on in the eighth installment of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise. Rodriguez revealed this news at the UNITAS Gala Against Sex Trafficking in New York City on September 15.
The 37-year-old actress revealed that Walker was always “complaining about the special effects and the blue screens.”
The actress said that Paul Walker actually never wished “exaggerated explosions and crazy plot lines.” She further added that “Fast and Furious 8” would try to be “true to Paul’s wishes.”
Paul Walker died on November 30, 2013, in a car crash while filming for “Fast & Furious 7.” The film was released in April this year.
In the memorial segment filmed for the “Furious 7” DVD and Blu-ray editions, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and Michelle Rodriguez reflected on Walker, reported TIME.
Rodriguez said that the movie gave the opportunity for the fans to see Walker’s work even though he could not bid his fans farewell.
The source also added that “Fast & Furious 7” was actually finished with Walker’s “actual brothers standing in for the scenes,” giving a break after the actor’s death.
According to Wikipedia entry, Walker died in a single-vehicle collision, alongside Roger Rodas, his friend. At that time, the actor was involved in two other films “Hours” and “Brick Mansions,” other than “Fast & Furious 7.” “Hours” was released in 2013 while “Brick Mansions” was released in 2014.
Wiz Khalifa’s song “See You Again” on the “Furious 7” soundtrack, is actually a tribute to the dead actor.
The “Fast and Furious 8” is going to be challenging and bigger than ever in the franchise. The film is set to release in April, 2017.
