Dakota Johnson who plays Anastasia Steele in the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey” has mentioned that “Fifty Shades Darker” is set to begin filming early New Year of 2016, Melty reported. Co-star Eloise Mumford who plays Kate Kavanagh has been very careful not to say any details regarding the upcoming sequel of “Fifty Shades of Grey” for the past weeks saying that she wasn’t allowed to say anything regarding production dates.
Based on E.L. James’ bestselling erotic novel, “Fifty Shades of Grey” has gathered a huge fan base all over the world, hence, the growing anticipation for the sequel. During an interview with Glamour, Johnson has confirmed the production date of sequel “Fifty Shades Darker.”
“Fifty Shades Darker” is slated to premiere on February 10, 2017 and is described as “more of a thriller than a romantic movie” with Johnson and Jamie Dornan set to reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. It is also rumored that singer Rita Ora will return as Mia Grey, despite the fact that she was heavily criticized for her performance in the first movie.
As for the final installment of the franchise “Fifty Shades Freed,” it is set to premiere on February 9, 2018. We still have a long way to go but fans are eager to have more “Fifty Shades” especially when author E.L. James announced that she is planning to rewrite the trilogy from Christian Grey’s perspective, which opens up possibilities to a second series of films. However, this is still not confirmed.
