It was not long ago when Henry Cavill was rumored to play as Jack Hyde in “Fifty Shades Darker,” and recently, movie franchise producer, Dana Brunetti, cleared out the news—Cavill is not Jack, but how about Theo James and Ian Somerhalder? Read on.
The 32-year-old actor is supposed to play as Christian Grey’s rival and Anastasia Steele’s new boss in “Fifty Shades Darker,” but as Dana Brunetti said, it was unlikely to happen as casting procedures are not yet being processed, according to his interview with E!News.
Brunetti said that the production is nowhere near casting as they still don’t have a casting director on it yet.
Cavill, on the other hand, also insisted that he has nothing to say regarding the rumors about him playing as Jack. But, even though he remained mum about everything, the fans started to picture out Cavill as Christian’s rival and Anastasia’s boss, and as expected it didn’t help the situation as the rumors headlined every entertainment site and even social media.
This made Cavill decide to deal with the rumors and broke his silence to clarify things out once and for all. In his USA Today interview, the “Superman vs. Batman” actor revealed that fans won’t see him play as Jack, he was not appearing in the film, before adding that he was “just messing with everyone.”
Moving on, it seems like fans will not be overly disappointed at this news as two new names appeared and were linked to Jack Hyde’s character role. This time, Theo James of “Allegiant” and Ian Somerhalder of “Vampire Diaries” were rumored to be in the long list of the possible cast of the second sequel.
According to the reports, James and Somerhalder were speculated by some fans to play as Jack since both actors exudes charisma and aura of manliness which is what the character they’ll portray has. Other than that, James and Somerhalder will soon be done with their individual projects also.
It was previously reported by Inquisitr that Damon Salvatore, Somerhalder’s character in “Vampire Diaries” will be killed off in Season 7 to give the actor enough time to prepare for his role as Jack.
Meanwhile, James recently finished filming “The Divergent Series Allegiant,” and it’s next and last installment will be filmed in the next couple of months, meaning, the actor has plenty of time to prepare.
As of writing, Universal Pictures has not yet cleared any of these rumors, and though Brunetti revealed that there’s still no casting for the new characters in the sequel, fans are still hoping to see either Theo James or Ian Somerhalder in “Fifty Shades Darker.”
Who among Henry Cavill, Theo James and Ian Somerhalder you think is the most suitable actor for Jack Hayde’s character?
“Fifty Shades Darker” is set to premiere on Feb. 10, 2017.
