A “Fifty Shades of Grey” parody film starring Marlon Wayans is set to hit the big screen by 2016, called “Fifty Shades of Black.”
In an official statement, Marlon Wayans said that the idea to produce a “Fifty Shades of Black” movie was inevitable since the erotic movie was just “begging to made fun of.”
“I’m really happy to be doing what I love with people I love to do it with. That double entendre was intentional,” he said.
The actor took to Instagram to share a poster of the film with the caption, “Mr. Wayans will see you now.”
According to Digital Spy, Marlon Wayans is teaming up with producer Rick Alvarez, known for his work in “White Chicks” and “A Haunted House” for the hilarious film. Michael Tiddes was said to direct the project. The film was said to be introduced to interested parties starting at the Cannes Film Festival, which begins next week.
Reports from Christian Today revealed that the “Fifty Shades of Grey” parody movie is set to be released in 2016, a year after the original film. However, some say that the film was pushed back to March 2017, a month after “Fifty Shades Darker” premiere.
The news about the parody film drew mixed reactions from netizens. Some found the idea of making a “Fifty Shades of Black” hilarious while others claim that spoof projects were a thing of the past. Screen Crush pointed out that there had been too many spoof films these days and that they’re not actually funny anymore. These films also don’t make much money in the box office.
