Pixar President Jim Morris has shed some light on the details about “Finding Dory, the upcoming sequel to "Finding Nemo." Read on for more details on this story.
According to Comicbook.com, Pixar President Jim Morris spills new details in an interview with Collider.
“The movie will be mostly set at the California Marine Biology Institute, a huge complex of sea life rehabilitation and aquarium, where Dory was born and raised. We will get to meet new characters, like an octopus, sea lions, [and] a beluga whale, among others.” Morris said in the Collider interview.
Set six months after the events of “Finding Nemo”, ‘Finding Dory” will be focusing on the amnesiac character Dory. She will embark on a journey to be reunited with her family. Dory, now living in the same reef as the clown fishes living a normal and quiet life. She has been dealing with her forgetfulness goes with Nemo on a class trip one day to see manta rays migrate back home. The simple event makes her feel home sick since she doesn’t know where she came from.
Ellen DeGeneres is set to reprise her role as Dory. Joining her are Nemo as well as the rest of the "Tank Gang". Albert Brooks will be reprising his role as Marlin, Nemo's father; Diane Keaton as Jenny, Dory's mother; Eugene Levy as Charlie, Dory's father; Ty Burrell as Bailey, a beluga whale; Willem Dafoe as Gill, one of the tank inhabitants in the first pic as well as; Vicki Lewis as Deb; Kaitlin Olson as Dory's adopted sister, a killer whale; Dominic West and Idris Elba in an unannounced role. It is unknown if Nemo's voice actor Alexander Gould, who was nine years old at the time the first film was made, will be voicing the character again, as his voice has deepened with age.
"Finding Dory" is directed and written by Andrew Stanton from a story co-written by Victoria Strouse. Lindsey Collins, Walt Disney Pictures, and Pixar Animation Studios will produce the pic which is set to swim into theater screens on June 17, 2016. “Finding Dory” will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
