On Ryan Murphy’s official Twitter account, the director heats up the news that a new cast member is joining the “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” and he is no other than Finn Wittrock. Wittrock will portray a new mystery character on the show. Read further to learn more about this scoop.

While it has been reported that the fourth season of the “American Horror Story” consists of returning cast members from “Coven,” details are yet to be given about the new characters on the “Freak Show.” So at the moment, it’s for Finn’s followers to find out how big his role will be in the anthology. As reported days ago, the show’s new season will revolve around the last freak show in America sometime in 1952 and will again have Jessica Lange as the lead character who is a German expat managing one of the last remaining freak shows in the country. Based on the Huffpost TV report, FX CEO John Landgraf promised that the newest season of “American Horror Story” will have a completely different look from what the viewers have seen so far from the characters to the setting.

Wittrock had a role in Ryan Murphy’s HBO TV movie, “The Normal Heart,” prior to his debut in the “American Horror Story.” In the movie, Wittrock played Albert whose death brought attention to HIV. According to Hypable, the actor also made a Broadway debut opposite the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in “Death of a Salesman.”  Wittrock is also known for his characters in “All My Children,” Showtime’s “Masters of Sex”  and some appearances on “Torchwood,” “Criminal Minds” and “Harry’s Law.”

Wittrock will join “American Horror Story” newcomer Michael Chiklis and other returning cast: Frances Conroy, Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson.

“American Horror Story” is known for scaring the hell out of viewers to the extreme. Langraf said that the followers of the show can expect a darker Season 4 than “Coven,” the show’s previous season. The “Freak Show,” he added, is somewhere in between “Asylum” and “Coven.”

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” is due to debut on Wednesday 10:00pm, October 15, 2014 on FX.
