Ryan Reynolds is finally going to reveal to the the world the first ever “Deadpool” trailer at Conan O’ Brien’s Show at TBS on Aug 4. Reynolds, 38, is eager to get his superhero chops back on after 2011’s disastrous Green Lantern.
In the upcoming “Deadpool” movie, Reynolds will play a mercenary called ‘Wade Wilson’ who was injected with the ‘healing factor’ (think Wolverine). The character is a comic book fan favorite, and Fox’s initial premiere of the trailer at the San Diego Comic Con received a standing ovation. Reynolds and director Tim Miller even got asked for a trailer encore.
A.V. Club has made some interesting hints about the movie, “For all we know, it could involve setting up a comics-accurate version of Deadpool’s origin, then cut to some action scenes directly lifted from that test footage, and then feature Deadpool’s first meeting with Negasonic Teenage Warhead….. Also, the X-Man known as Colossus might’ve been there for a bit too, but we don’t remember.”
The second “Deadpool” trailer hits the screens with the new “Fantastic Four” movie, which will come out next week. Canadian actor Reynolds expressed his enthusiasm for the movie at SDCC, saying “For one I think it’s an absolute miracle that a studio let us make ‘Deadpool’ let alone a Rated-R ‘Deadpool,'” Variety reports.
‘Deadpool’ who is known in the comics as ‘the merc with the mouth’ is characterized by ultra-violent storylines, dark humor, and frequently breaking the fourth wall. A synopsis released by the studio reads: “Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.”
“Deadpool” also stars Morena Baccarin and Brianna Hildebrand and hits theaters on Feb 12, 2016.
