Tracy Morgan returns to big screen after recovering from a car crash injury. The actor/ comedian would join the cast of Ice Cube’s comedy film “Fist Fight.” Read on to get more details.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Morgan was critically injured in a car crash in June last year. He was out of spotlight while he was recovering from the injuries. However, he appeared for an interview this year, in June, with Matt Lauer.
The actor/ comedian made his return to television for presenting an award at the 2015 Emmy Awards on September 20, after his complete recovery. The actor is now allegedly in negotiations to join Ice Cube and Charlie Day in the upcoming new comedy film “Fist Fight.” Indeed, this would be the first movie for the actor after recovering from the car crash injury.
“The Boxtrolls,” the animated film, and “Top Five,” Chris Rock comedy film, are the most recent films of Tracy Morgan. The actor would also host the NBC’s television show “Saturday Night Live” on October 17.
Richie Keen is the director of “Fist Fight,” and Evan Susser and Van Robichaux are the script writers of the film, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The source also added that Charlie Day would perform the role of a “mild-mannered school teacher” in the film, while Ice Cube would be a co-worker, and Morgan would play the role of the school’s coach. In this film, the character played by Day would be “challenged to fisticuffs” by Cube.
THE WRAP reported that Shawn Levy, Max Greenfield and John Rickard, are the producers of the film. Charlie Day, Dan Cohen, Billy Rosenberg and Marty Ewing are the executive producers of the film. The source also reported that the film’s production would begin in Atlanta, this month.
Meanwhile, Tracy Morgan seems to be “fully re-committing himself to his work,” to make his role in “Fist Fight” as another huge step in his career after his recovery.
