The horror video game Five Nights at Freddy’s is soon getting a film adaptation. The speculation for Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie has increased after a tweet was posted by video game creator, Scott Cawthon.

Cawthon is a video game designer, who has been launched to fame after the success of his horror video game. This game called Five Nights at Freddy’s is a fictional pizza center called “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.” In this game, the player takes on the role of a night security guard has to protect himself from the scary and haunted animatronics characters. He can track them by using the facility’s security cameras.

The production of this movie after the success of the video game has been postponed for some time now. But here is a new reason why the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie might finally happen. Read on to know more.

Reason Why Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie Is Happening Soon

Game creator, Cawthon has posted an image of a director’s chair. It has the label of Freddy written on it. And interestingly, the background movie screen shows the name of Blumhouse Productions in the background.

This has raised the expectation of fans that a potential horror or thriller film is in the development stage under the new production house. Blumhouse Productions has a 10-year first-look deal with the studio Universal Pictures. It is very popular for producing super-hit horror films. To name a few, their project includes Insidious, Paranormal Activity, The Purge and more. Another interesting thing about this production house is that it is well known for making low-budget horror films.

If Blumhouse Productions is taking up Five Night At Freddy’s Movie project, then there are two things to expect. One, it might put a big emphasis on jump scares and two, it might keep the budget low, reports Screenrant.

Problems Faced By Five Night At Freddy’s Movie

The success of Five Nights at Freddy’s horror video game led to its spread over other media platforms. A novel adaptation titled Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes has been released in 2015. Later, a spin-off titled FNaF World has been released in 2016.

But the film adaptation of this game has taken a long time. Scott Cawthon has revealed several roadblocks the production of Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie has faced. He did this in a Facebook post that was put up in Feb. 2017.

In his post, he has clearly mentioned difficulties such as problems within the movie industry as a whole! He has also expressed that it is a bad thing because the film is in its early stages. At the same time, he said that perhaps what is happening is good because he wants to make sure that the right movie gets done.

Many fans have expressed their disappointment to this post. But after the recent tweet about Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie likely happening soon, fans are excited.

Potential Plotline Of Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie

It is easy to play the Five Nights At Freddy’s video game. It is a popular point-and-click survival horror game. It requires the player to survive five nights as a security guard. One can experience the haunting scenes and the scare jumps and appearances made by animatronic characters here.

But when it comes to developing a film plot, a lot of writing is done and drafts are prepared. It will be interesting to see whether the film also shows the story of a night security guard and if there will be scary teddy bears or dolls used to leave an impact on fans.

So far, the movie seems to be in an early development stage. Hence, a trailer might be dropped in late summer. The exact release date of the film is not revealed yet.
