“The Following” Season 2 is over. Episode 15 “Forgive” was shown last Monday, April 28, 2014. Even if it has just ended, fans of the show have observed that it just keeps getting better and better! For starters, the cast for Season 2 is so much better than the first season. Of course, it still features the main stars Kevin Bacon as former FBI agent Ryan Hardy and James Purefoy as former professor turned serial killer and cult leader Joe Carroll. But, in “The Following” Season 2, a few additional and interesting characters like the creepy twins Luke and Mark played by Sam Underwood, and Jessica Stroup as NYPD detective Max Hardy a.k.a. Ryan’s niece, were included in the cast. Before we get carried away with how good the said show is, check out MNG’s “The Following” recap of the Season 2 Finale Episode 15 “Forgive” to learn more about it.
“The Following” Recap: Season 2 Finale Episode 15 “Forgive”
For this season ender, Ryan Hardy and Joe Carroll team up to save the woman that they both love from the evil twins and who else could that be but Claire. Yes, Claire is still alive after all and has been taken in by the witness protection program for a year. She was instructed to fake her death to keep her and her son safe because there are still a lot of Carroll followers out there in hiding.
The twins Luke and Mark planned their usual creepy dinner party except that the guests are alive and they’re no other than Ryan, Joe and Claire as they played the game of “Truth or Kill Claire.”
Meanwhile, Max and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) tried to save the day. Unfortunately, there was a shooting involved. Joe tried to escape but Max, Mike and Ryan caught him. Joe mocked Ryan to kill him but Ryan told Mike to call the FBI instead and have Joe arrested so he can rot in jail. Hmm…we’ll see.
It also turned out to be a not so happy ever after for Ryan and Claire since she told him that she will only be his past and she said this, “Go build a future for yourself Ryan, whatever that is.”
On the lighter side, Max and Mike finally kissed so at least we have something to look forward to on the next season (“The Following” Season 3), and that includes Mark’s revenge since his evil twin Luke was killed by Max. The intriguing part of the “The Following” Season 2 finale is the mysterious person who was driving the car with Mark as he said “Thank you for coming. I didn’t know who else to call.” Who could that be? We’ll have to wait for “The Following” Season 3 to find out.
