Former Nickelodeon Star Drake Bell Arrested for DUI
Drake Bell, a 29-year-old former Nickelodeon actor and Newport Beach native, was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of DUI in Glendale.

Actor/musician and former Nickelodeon star Drake Bell joins the ranks of Hollywood stars who have found themselves on the wrong side of the law. He was arrested in Glendale, California on suspicions of driving under the influence (DUI), according to an E! Online report.

The incident was first reported by the Los Angeles Times. According to police records, Bell, 29 years old, was stopped at West Doran Street and San Fernando Road at 2:18 am. The reason he caught the attention of law enforcement was his apparent speeding and swerving after “abruptly stopping at a red light,” according to Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

The report further indicates that the officer who accosted Bell noticed the odor of alcohol from within the vehicle. Bell was subjected to a sobriety test which he failed, Lightfoot added. The exact words of the report say that the actor “did not satisfactorily complete” the sobriety test which landed him in jail.

The officer who arrested Bell said that he was driving at 55 on a 35 lane. Drake Bell was traveling alone when the incident happened. He was placed under arrest but was released after posting a $20,000 bail. He spent nearly ten hours behind bars before bailing himself out.

Bell’s manager and other representatives were not available for comment, People noted.

The actor’s claim to fame was his role on Nickelodeon’s show “Drake and Josh” from 2004 to 2007 which chronicled the lives of two teens who end up being stepbrothers. This is not Drake Bell’s first time in the headlines for something controversial.

Drake had previously tweeted that he would continue to refer to Olympian and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner by her previous name and identity, Bruce Jenner. The tweet was later deleted and Bell came out with a statement apologizing for his “thoughtless insensitive remarks.”
