Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode opened at the campsite of Ronnie (Johnny Harris) and Carrie Morgan (Elizabeth Dormer-Philips). He had brought her to a remote place where they could hear the glaciers moving.

Meanwhile, Shirley Allerdyce (Jessica Gunning) looked into the storage building where the mammoth remains were, and left after looking around. Later on, she went to the hotel where she comforted Elena Ledesma (Veronica Echegui). She was worried about Frank Sutter (Nicholas Pinnock). She knew that his arrest was not good at all for both of them.

Henry Tyson (Sir Michael Gambon) was surprised to find Sheriff Dan Anderssen (Richard Dormer) seated inside his house in the dark. He then told Henry that he had messed up when he had arrested Frank in Elena’s hotel room, because of Elena.

At the government building, Dr. Margaret Allerdyce (Phoebe Nicholls) treated Frank’s wounds. He had been punched and had hit his head against the wall. After Dr. Allerdyce entered the cell again, she asked Dan to leave. It was after Frank told her that Dan had assaulted him. Because of this, Detective Chief Inspector Eugene Morton (Stanley Tucci) insisted on Governor Hildegard Odegaard (Sofie Grabol), that he should be the one to conduct the interview with Frank.

Meanwhile, at the squad room, Police Officer Petra (Alexandra Moen) told Dan that they needed a sample, like an eyebrow follicle from the late Charlie Stoddart (Christopher Eccleston). They could ask Natalie Yelburton (Sienna Guillory) and Vincent Rattrey (Luke Treadaway) at the biology department, They need to conduct a DNA comparison with the blood on the shirt on Frank’s shirt.

While Dan went to the morgue, Trish Soddart (Chipo Chung) came and gave Eric Odegaard (Bjorn Hlynur Harladsoon) some sandwiches. After informing her of the arrest that they had made, he comforted her by hugging her, which was seen by his wife from a distance.

The governor then went down to the morgue. He convinced Dan not to be present in the interviews, and got the sample to give to Petra. Afterward, Petra handed the sample over to Natalie and Vincent. They went to work right away so that they could get the results as soon as possible.

At the Allerdyce home, Shirley and her boyfriend, Markus Huseklepp (Darren Boyd) surprised Dr. Allerdyce by serving her whale without her knowing it. Afterward, the two went to bed. He told her that she was extraordinarily beautiful. They were going to do something together which would make them closer than ever. He then fed her some ice cream, even though she really didn’t want to eat it anymore.

At the laboratory, Vincent and Natalie tested the eyebrow follicle against the blood on the shirt. Petra wondered why there was something wrong with the reindeer fetus samples there. Natalie then told her that she didn’t know why that was happening and that they were currently conducting experiments in order to figure out what was causing it.

At the interview room, Frank informed Morton and Hildy that the blood on his shirt was from Liam. He had found him on the floor, bleeding because the swelling at his throat had ruptured. After Frank had carried him to shower, which was how the blood got on his shirt, Liam had instantly felt better. However, this seemed a little bit strange to Morton. He then brought up the fact that he had just discovered that Frank had been discharged from the army after serving for five years because he had gone blind in one eye. However, Frank couldn’t understand the connection between that and the case at hand.

Afterward, they brought in Jules Sutter (Jessica Raine) for questioning. They discovered that she had no idea that that had happened. All that she knew was that Liam had gotten sick because of frostbit. While she was out of the house that night, she knew that Frank wasn’t at home from 7:00 p.m. to around 7:30 p.m.

In the interview room, Morton discovered that Frank had been with Elena around the time he had left the house because he had slept with her at a car repair shop. Dan, who was watching the interviews heard all of this, and so did Jules, who had just happened to enter the room just as Frank told Morton that fact.

Meanwhile, Carrie got scared after hearing some footsteps outside of their tent, her father then went to check it out, and told her that it had just been a bunch of reindeer, which meant that they were going to be protected from the polar bears thanks to their presence.

Outside the government building, Dan accompanied Jules who had decided to wait outside for a while. Elena then came for questioning and didn’t look twice at Jules as she passed her.

Inside the interview room, Elena informed Morton that she had gone to see Frank that night because she was going to break up with him. Instead, she had slept with him in the car repair shop, which meant that Frank was telling the truth about that night. And told Morton that she had no relationship at all with Dan. Morton then got her file from Eric. He informed her that he knew that she had changed her name from Esmeralda to Elena. It was because she and her former lover had been convicted of killing a man with a pair of scissors. However, she only told him that nobody knew who had really killed him. Hildy then left the room and confronted Dan about this as he had kept this from her so that he could protect her. However, he insisted that he and Elena were not in a relationship together.

Back in the interview room, Elena claimed that she was no longer Esmeralda, and that she was a different person from who she was in her past. she told Morton that she didn’t kill the professor. To Eric’s and Dan’s surprise, Morton began asking about Billy Pettigrew. Morton then noticed that Elena blushed whenever he said his name, which meant that she had known who he was. Inside the other room, Dan realized that Morton had come there not because of Stoddart’s death, but because of Billy Pettigrew’s death, which occurred months ago.

Afterward, Natalie and Vincent revealed to them that the blood on the shirt was Stoddart’s, which meant that Frank had killed the professor. However, Dan refused to believe that this was true, especially as Frank insisted that he had been worried about his son, whom he thought was going to die as Liam had been covered in blood. Dan then realized that Frank hadn’t killed Stoddart and found, underneath Liam’s bed, Liam’s pajamas caked in dried blood. After showing this to them, they realized that Frank was innocent, and that Liam had witnessed the murder of Charlie.

After confronting Frank in his cell again, Dan was able to confirm his theory that Liam had been taken against his will to Stoddart’s house.

Back at the tent, Ronnie took off his glove to reveal a sick and bloody hand. He then went over to a patch of the snow where there was a lot of blood while Carrie stared.
