“Foxcatcher” Synopsis:

“Foxcatcher” was about the story of Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler Mark Schultz and millionaire John du Pont. Mark, trying to veer away from the shadow of his celebrated athlete brother Dave, opted to stay with du Pont and helped form a team and train for the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Desperate to earn the respect of his negative mother, du Pont coached the world-class team.

In the process, Mark started to see du Pont as a father figure, thus seeking his approval. Things took a turn for the worse when du Pont lures Mark into a dangerous lifestyle. Mark then lost his confidence and ended up in self-destruction. Then, du Pont spotted Dave who had the self-assurance that he and his brother lacked. With du Pont’s erratic behavior, paranoia and unforeseen turn of events, he killed Dave.
