Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto fought Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw in the previous installment “Furious 7” and sent him to a high level prison under the careful watch of DSS agent Luke Hobbs played by Dwayne Johnson. But it seems that he won’t be in there for a long time. If reports are to be believed then Dame Helen Mirren, who has been quite vocal in wanting to join the franchise as the new villain, might just have her wish fulfilled. Read on for more details.
According to Classicalite, Mirren had expressed that she wanted to join the cast of the movie’s next installment, that was announced by Producer and lead star Vin Diesel himself. The movie which is expected to release in 2017 could see the veteran actress as its new villain. Reports suggest that as soon as Vin got to know about Mirren’s interest in joining the cast, he was more than happy to cast the Hollywood icon in the movie.
It is being said that Eva Mendes will also return to potray her character from the movie “2 Fast 2 Furious” and will, of course, fight for the good side. Rumors suggest that Mendes’ participation in the movie has been going on for months and it can be said that her casting as of now has been confirmed.
According to the media outlet’s sources, Diesel also made it quite clear that Mirren is more then welcome to join the movie’s cast as the new villain, which is nothing but good news. If the source’s information is true then she could probably play the role of someone related to Statham’s character Deckard who helps him escape from the high0security prison. Mirren in an interview with Seth Meyers clarified that the reason she wants to be a part of the movie is because she is more interested in working with Diesel. She was all praises for him and doubted if he knew about her. Diesel reciprocated by saying that he is more than aware of the icon’s career and absolutely loves her. There’s nothing he would want more than to cast her in the movie.
We can all hope that an official confirmation is announced soon as we would love to see Dame Helen Mirren playing a larger than life character.
