“The Iron Giant 2” in the works?

Vin Diesel recently posted at his official social media account that he was fortunate to have played in “The Iron Giant” and telling fans not to be surprised if a sequel is announced. Did the “Furious 8” star just spill “The Iron Giant 2?” Read on for more details.

Fans were surprised after knowing Vin Diesel, 48, previously played as the robotic giant in “The Iron Giant.”

Diesel’s post at Facebook said playing in “The Iron Giant” was one of his favorites. But what interested fans more was a hint of the film’s sequel, “The Iron Giant 2.”

“Don’t be surprised when you hear WB (Warner Bros. Entertainment) announce the sequel,” Diesel said.

Diesel’s post garnered 2.8 million views, 211,541 likes, 22,125 shares, and more than 5,000 comments.

Facebook user Joakim Torkveen said, “Did he just announce the Iron Giant 2?”

“A sequel for The Iron Giant? YES!!! One of my favorite animated films,” FB user Destiny Lawrence said.

Others suggested of a possible plot in the upcoming “The Iron Giant 2.”

“I think a cool idea for a sequel is set in the 80s and have Hogarth be a father and the Iron Giant returns but that’s just a thought,” FB user Nicholas Joseph Lemos commented.

Another claimed a sequel of the film was already rumored before for about five years already.

“There has been word of the sequel for about 5 years now. I am sure that it is in the can already and this is the first pitch for it,” FB user Paula Washburn-down stated.

However, Cinemablend expressed uncertainty if Diesel (real name Mark Sinclair) was really hinting of a possible “The Iron Giant” sequel. It might reportedly mean he just believed that a sequel would prove to be a success.

Well, for fans of the movie, a sequel would be welcomed since it was already two decades since the release of the animated film. But since Warner Bros. Entertainment is yet to issue an official statement to confirm or deny “The Iron Giant 2,” readers should take this with a grain of salt.
