The upcoming romantic comedy series “Man Seeing Woman,” which will begin its run on FXX on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2015, has come out with its first two teasers. Read on for more about this news story.
Jay Baruchel is cast as Josh Greenberg in this unusual romantic series that is also touted as a dark comedy. As Josh, the character is described as the kind of an awkward 20-something whose romantic experiences are sometimes harsh and degrading. The show pokes fun at Josh’s attempt to find the love of his life, and the story is done in the most unconventional, twisted but quirky manner.
In the first teaser entitled “Force-Field,” Josh is shown at a grocery store with his friend, when a gorgeous woman walks in too. His friend encourages Josh to chat up with her, but for some reason, it looks like a force-field is protecting her from guys like Josh. His friend, however, has no problem approaching the woman and talking to her, as he went through the force-field with no problem.
In the second teaser entitled, “Heartless,” Josh is out on a date and it looks like she’s already bored. He offers her nuts to munch on to go with her drink, but she refuses, gesturing that she didn’t like it. He then literally rips his heart out and offers this to her. She takes a bite from the heart, but she also didn’t seem to like it.
The comedy oddball is based on a book of the short series written by Simon Rich entitled “The Last Girlfriend on Earth” and will run for ten episodes. The show also stars Eric Andre, Maya Erskine and Britt Lower.
Hitfix has posted an exclusive artwork for “Man Seeking Woman,” which features Baruchel’s character on a dinner date with a troll. All these teasers should give viewers a clue about the kind of comedy this series will be.
