According to Entertainment Weekly, “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss  will have two confirmed seasons. Benioof noted that “it would be nice if people kept watching it.”

“The idea is to tell a unified story that’s 70-odd hours long and do that successfully. It’s something I would love for my kids to be able to appreciate someday – though it might be traumatic for them to see it.”  Weiss said.

According to Benioff, he would like the series will be like “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” where people are watching and enjoying the twentieth season.

The production of the sixth season will begin this July. But this time, fans who have already read the books will have no clue for the upcoming season as “The Winds of Winter,” next novel by Martin is not yet released. So, the fans will be walking into unknown territories unless Martin publishes the book before the next spring.

Millions of fans who have already read the book complaint how the show runners has totally changed some of the major plots from the books. According to Weiss, the production tries very hard to stick with the main story but sometimes it happens that the plot written in the book varies with the TV show. “You can’t dictate people’s reactions but I hope there’s an element of surprise introduced into the show’s narrative that makes it exciting for both people who read the books and people who watch the show and haven’t read the books yet,” Dan added.
