The last episode of “Game of Thrones” (GOT) Season 4 Episode 5 “First of His Name,” which was aired on May 4, 2014, just simply reminded us the reason why it’s one of the best shows on television today and this episode pretty much delivered a roller coaster of emotions to all the viewers who watched it (and will watch, for those who haven’t yet). Read on for MNG’s “Game of Thrones” recap of Season 4 Episode 5 “First of His Name.”
Littlefinger Sure is Not Little
One important part of GOT Season 4 is that we found out who killed Joffrey and it was Littlefinger, with the help of Olenna Tyrell. And, Littlefinger’s power doesn’t end there because in this episode of “Game of Thrones,” we also found out that he was the one who killed Jon Arryn, the former Hand of the King and Lysa’s husband. It was revealed that Littlefinger convinced Lysa to kill Jon and lie to Catelyn and Ned Stark. This only showed that through all the chaos that has happened, Littlefinger was behind all of it. And Varys was right all along when he said that Littlefinger is one of the most dangerous men in the Seven Kingdoms.
Arya, the Brave
Arya seems to be the toughest Stark child – ever and she has proven that on this episode when she struck The Hound with Needle and even added him to the bottom of her list of the people that she’s going to kill. Did we mention that she said that right in front of The Hound’s face? This child really has more balls than almost any character on “Game of Thrones.” After The Hound got struck by Arya’s sword, he slapped her across the face but we all know that The Hound does care for Arya.
Hands Down to Hodor
He does say “Hodor” all the time but in this episode, Hodor showed us what he’s really capable of! He rescued Bran from Locke. Hodor broke free from his chains, which is amazing by the way and picked up Locke and snapped his neck in two. All of these because it was ordered by Bran but still, we have our hands down to Hodor.
Jon and his Nasty Kill
Karl and Jon fought and Jon finished him off by putting a sword through at the back of his neck into his mouth. Nasty!
Queen Cersei has Feelings???
We also saw a different side of Cersei when she opened up and revealed her softer side to Oberyn Martell, telling him how she missed her daughter. And, Tommen is now King.
