“Game of Thrones” Season 4 Episode 2 “The Lion and The Rose” Recap:
In “Game of Thrones,” death happens anytime, even during weddings. We have witnessed it at The Red Wedding. This time, someone dies again during Joffrey’s wedding! And, it’s none other than him! What happened to Joffrey? Well, the despicable boy got poisoned and it looks like Tyrion Lannister, his uncle, is the culprit. However, we’re still not so sure about this.
Aside from the royal wedding that ended with Joffrey’s death, there is also Theon Greyjoy, who is now known as “Reek” and is now completely loyal to Ramsay Bolton. The Boltons are on the move to capture Bran Stark after learning that he’s still alive and headed north.
As for Bran, he’s still having his visions through the eyes of animals. This is not news to “Game of Thrones” fans because what he saw were more tragedies and war. There is also Stannis Baratheon who’s biding his time in his fortress together with Melisandre, his red priestess, who is up to using her old tricks of burning people for support.
Jamie Lannister is still very disappointed with what happened with his severed hand. Tyrion offered Bronn, his bodyguard to be Jamie’s sparring partner. Varys, the spider, warns Tyrion that Shae is in danger. Tyrion tried to convince Shae to leave King’s Landing for her safety and because Shae won’t leave, Tyrion insulted her so bad that he regretted it afterwards.
At the royal wedding, Joffrey was presented with Tywin’s gift, one of the two forged swords from Ned Stark that we all saw last episode. Joffrey was so happy with it that he used it to destroy the book that Tyrion gave him. After that, all he did was mock and humiliate Tyrion and Sansa.
