‘Game of Thrones’ Update: George R.R. Martin Teases Ending Of His Book Series?

Game of Thrones” Season 6 is currently underway and as much as we are all excited to see it, George R.R. Martin, the author of “A Song of Ice and Fire” where the HBO fantasy series is based from, teased how the story will end.Read On!

GRRM told his fans that they should prepare themselves for a “bittersweet ending.” He said, “We all yearn for happy endings in a sense. Myself, I’m attracted to the bittersweet ending,” as per The Wrap.

He added that he is often asked about the ending of “Game of Thrones” to which he has always avoided answering except saying the fans to expect the end to have something bittersweet.

He also took a leaf out of J.R.R. Tolkien’s book when it comes to endings. Martin said that Tolkien ended his book series brilliantly and he believes in the same notion that you don’t get everything all at once because it doesn’t work that way. That being said, GRRM will definitely give fans a rollercoaster of emotions when his series ends, so ready those tissues.

“Game of Thrones” debuted in HBO in April of 2011 and during its run, Martin has already killed a number of lead characters that up until this day fans are still talking about. The first five books have already been released while the last two of the seven-novel series remains to be unreleased.

GRRM even joked about how he can make himself write faster because he is already being bugged about the last two books. However, he said, he writes at his own pace and he just couldn’t make things quicker because people wants him to. He also said that whatever is happening in the “Game of Thrones” series on HBO will not affect the flow of his novels.
