Bron Studios partners up with Gary Sanchez Productions’ Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Chris Henchy to produce animated feature film “Henchmen: Ill Suited.” Read on to learn more about this scoop.
According to Deadline, the SIGGRAPH 2014 feature-length “Henchmen: Ill Suited” that premiered in Vancouver from Bron Studios gets new executive producers and creative collaborators as Gary Sanchez Productions’ Adam McKay, Will Ferrell and Chris Henchy get on board the project.
“Henchmen” reunites Bron and Gary Sanchez Prod, who have previously worked together on a Kristen Wiig-starrer “Welcome to Me,” which will be launched next month at the Toronto International Film Festival. In “Henchmen,” a daydreaming janitor working at a museum at Super Villain City ends up wearing a super-powered suit that goes haywire causing mayhem. Hank, a fallen henchman who leads a motley crew of blue-collar workers, must now become the hero he never was to rescue the kid in the suit and the missing woman he loves.
Bron Studios is a motion pictures company based in British Columbia, working with live-action and animated film and television projects. Its notable productions include “Rudderless,” “Welcome to Me,” “A Single Shot,” Clark Gregg’s “Trust Me,” “Tumbledown,” “The Driftless Area” and “Foreverland.”
Gary Sanchez Productions is a production company operated by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, named after Gary Sanchez, a fictional Paraguayan entrepreneur and financier. It is represented by Creative Artists Agency. They also founded the video site Funny or Die. Their notable works include “The Foot Fist Way,” “Step Brothers,” “The Goods: Live Hard,” “Sell Hard,” “The Other Guys,” “The Virginity Hit,” “Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie,” “Casa de Mi Padre,” “The Campaign,” “Bachelorette,” “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters,” “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,” “Tammy” and “Welcome to Me.” Some of their upcoming projects include “Get Hard,” “Sleeping with Other People” and “Manimal.”
“Henchmen” is currently in production under the direction of Adam Wood, and Dennis McNicholas of “Saturday Night Live” is currently on board completing a re-write. Bron’s Aaron L. Gilbert and Luke Carroll are producing with Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media Finance serving also as executive producer and one of the film’s main backers.
