Sticking with custom, Amal Alamuddin’s relatives will reportedly be paying for her highly anticipated wedding to George Clooney. Read on to learn more about their wedding details.
Amal’s conventional family are said to be paying the bill of the lavish wedding in Italy, regardless Clooney being way richer than them. His worth is reportedly $180 million. “Crazy enough, her family is paying for most of it!” a source told US Weekly of Amal’s parents, Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin.
According to US Weekly, a source revealed that Alamuddin’s parents were “old-fashioned when it comes to these things.”
Alamuddin’s mother, Baria, is an editor at the Lebanese newspaper, Al Hayat. In her career, she has interviewed prominent personalities, including Bill Clinton and Tony Blair. Ramzi, Amal’s father, is a retired business professor who has taught in the Beirut branch campus of American University. The publication also reported that Amal’s parents have had a lot of involvement in the wedding, which will allegedly be taking place in Venice, Italy, on Sept. 27, 2014.
Further details have been revealed about the couple’s impending nuptials. Oscar-nominated actors and Lebanon-born beauties are set to mark the big day along with just 60 guests, including Matt Damon and Cindy Crawford. The rumor has it that George and Amal will be celebrating a “casual” dinner at the nearby Hotel Cipriani the day before their wedding. They will then head to the Aman Canal Grande Venice hotel, where they will tie the knot at 11:00 a.m.
Lodging at the Aman Canal Grande Venice hotel certainly will cost a hefty amount, with rooms at the seven-star hotel in the Palazzo Papadopoli costing around £1,000 to £3,200 per night. Amal’s sister, Tala, is set to be her maid of honor, while Cindy’s husband, Rande Gerber, will take the role of George’s best man.
Opera singer Andrea Bocelli is set to be perform at the ceremony. Recently, Bocelli, crooned at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s wedding. While attending the “Celebrity Fight Night” in Florence, Italy, Clooney revealed the pair would be marrying in Venice last weekend.
“I met my lovely bride to be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places,” said Clooney to People.
George was presented with the Humanitarian Award at the black-tie event. The event was held in support of the Andrea Bocelli Foundations and The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center.
