He may be killing off most our beloved characters in “Game of Thrones” but George R.R. Martin also takes some time to answer the mind-boggling questions of his fans from time to time.
In “Game of Thrones” Season 5, Stannis was “killed” by Brienne of Tarth. However, this is unsure since we didn’t see any dead body or even Stannis’ head. So, there is this lingering question that Brienne might have spared his life. Meanwhile, in the books of “A Song of Ice and Fire” Stannis was defeated by Ramsay Bolton. However, he book didn’t make it clear if Stannis died or not.
To answer that question, Martin said, “In my books? Alive, beyond a doubt.” However, we all know that “Game of Thrones” series has strayed away from the book and has been making some significant changes to it. This means that it really doesn’t matter whether a character is alive in the books because it is different in the TV series.
Another thing about the upcoming season of “GOT” is that a report from Watchers on the Wall has resurfaced. It mentioned Irish actors Andrew Bryan and Tristan Heanue being cast for minor roles. It is said that Bryan will play a Bolton officer while Heanue will play a character along with Brienne and Podrick Payne. It is very likely that he will also play a Bolton officer.
