While the love and hate relationship between Professor Xavier and Magneto have ruled the audience of “X-Men” franchise, now the story is going to have a twist in their relationship in the upcoming movie “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The plot may lead the audience to see the actual break up between them.
Cinefolis, an Italian film website, recently posted a complete description of the new trailer for “X-Men: Apocalypse” that was recently screened at Sorrento’s Professional Cinema Days. Let’s get a insight of it.
The trailer starts with HBO’s TV series “Game of Thrones’” actress Sophie Turner’s character, Jean Grey who wakes up from a nightmare. What she says to Charles Xavier aka Professor X (James McAvoy) seems to be a premonition of the end of the world.
“I have seen the end of the world. There was only death,” Grey says, Comic Book translates and elaborates.
Her forewarning scares the Professor as she continues, “It can control all of us.” Then two groups of mutants are shown, one against each other (possibly Apocalypse’s Horsemen and Xavier’s students and/or allies). Grey screams when Apocalypse sends a strong blast to the Professor in his wheelchair.
This is followed by a slow motion scene of Quicksilver that runs in the hallway of Cerebro. Mystique (“The Hunger Games” actress Jennifer Lawrence) tells Professor Xavier, “I came to fight.”
Before the screening of last image depicting Professor Xavier as bald, he enters the Cerebro Chamber that turns his black. He opines, “I’ve never felt like this before.” The Professor seems to be possessed by Apocalypse.
Shawn Ashmore, who is mainly known for his character Bobby Drake/Iceman in the “X-Men” series, said in an interview with IGN that he would be interested in exploring his character as a gay in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” So, now this is the time to deal with a gay superhero.
