Thou shall call here at any time should you face something out of the ordinary! Imagine how would it sound when you have a totally ripped manly man doing something as meager as answering a telephone call. Imagine the same man picking up the call saying a sentence similar to the above one. Sounds good, but a Chris Hemsworth fan like myself fails to see the real life demigod looking actor in a character like this.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Hemsworth has joined the cast of the all female reboot of the popular “Ghostbusters” franchise as a receptionist and will be taking in calls for the awesome foursome who will be out taking down supernatural entities. Perhaps the director thought he would have a facetious approach towards the reboot. He must have decided to cast characters who are full on geeks and are probably the last team on Earth who look like Ghostbusters and to have someone as majestic like Hemsworth and give him a receptionist role.
Clearly it would add a comical element to the movie, one look at the cast and people will imagine Chris ‘Thor’ Hemsworth going and pulverizing our supernatural “friends” but they will rather see a bunch of unfit misfits doing the job and the demigod picking up the phone and taking messages for the team. As our imaginations run wild, it would be really delightful to see maybe Melissa McCarthy or Kristen Wiig’s character hitting on Hemsworth’s character and probably see some chemistry between the two.
It was reported earlier that Chris Hemsworth wanted to star in some comedy as he has already established himself as one of the most bankable action stars after bringing Thor, the thunder God to life on silver screen and playing the role of Huntsman in “Snow White and The Huntsman”. He is currently shooting for the movie’s prequel titled “The Huntsman” and has started venturing into comedy with upcoming summer movie titled “Vacation” where he will be seen with Ed Helms and Christina Applegate.
The reboot movie is being directed by Paul Feig and stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon as the ghost hunting team and with Chris Hemsworth as their receptionist one can only expect comedy with a pinch of glamor.
