‘Ghostbusters’ Update: Details of Kristen Wiig’s Character Erin Gilbert

“Ghostbusters” female reboot is only a few months away and with a very little detail known about the movie, we finally have the base of what Kristen Wiig as well as other characters will be doing in the movie.

According to Entertainment Weekly, even any detail about the movie is not yet known, there are still quite a few legendary elements from the original one that will be seen in the new reboot. For instance, the classic Ghostbusters logo is back and the original heroes from the “Ghostbusters” will be seen in a cameo.

When asked further about the new characters, director Paul Feig stated that Kristen’s character is Erin Gilbert and describes her as a Particle Physicist, academic firebrand and a spectral warrior. Refusing to say any more than this, Paul did mention that the chemistry between the co-stars in the movie is just amazing.

Amongst the other Ghost fighting team, Melissa McCarthy plays a scientist, Kate McKinnon plays a researcher and Leslie Jones plays a subway worker, which later on joins the team.

Besides the leading ladies of the team, fans will also be interested in looking at Chris Hemsworth’s role as the receptionist, which in fact is very ironical since he plays the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Further elaborating on how amazing the all-female team is, the director was all praises for them and spoke about how each one of them is an incredibly talented woman and has their own style of comedy and voice.

Indie Blog reported that Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are the ones who will be seen with Proton packs taking on the supernatural as each one of them possess a certain skill set very useful in taking down the supernatural.

Apart from Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael and K. Williams will also be seen in the movie.

“Ghostbusters” will release next year on July 15th.
